Join an award-winning Knowledge & Innovation team at a top-tier Am 100 Law Firm as the Associate Director of Knowledge & Innovation. This leadership role is pivotal in driving firmwide knowledge management and innovation initiatives, including the adoption of cutting-edge legal technology and generative AI. You’ll oversee strategic projects, lead a team of knowledge professionals, and collaborate closely with attorneys to enhance legal service delivery through innovation, knowledge assets, and process optimization. Responsibilities for Associate Director, Knowledge & Innovation:
• Lead the design and execution of strategic K&I projects, including client portals, databases, and integration of generative AI into workflows.
• Oversee and support the implementation of innovation initiatives in alignment with firm objectives and best practices.
• Manage and mentor a team of K&I Assistants and Specialists; collaborate with K&I Attorneys to streamline workflows.
• Provide thought leadership and assist with business development, including presentations and RFP responses.
• Evaluate emerging legal technologies and support their adoption across practices.
• Drive engagement with K&I tools through communication and training initiatives.
• Monitor legal tech trends and share insights and potential use cases across the firm.
• Provide ad hoc support in locating and utilizing knowledge resources.
Requirements for Associate Director, Knowledge & Innovation:
• Juris Doctor required
• 10+ years of legal experience (law firm, in-house, or government), including 5+ years in knowledge management, innovation, or legal tech.
• Proven leadership and team management experience in a law firm or professional services environment.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills across all levels of an organization.
• Demonstrated expertise in leveraging data, tech tools, and knowledge assets to enhance legal practice.
• Excellent organizational and project management skills; familiarity with change management is a plus.
• Proficiency in MS Office Suite and web-based tools.
• Ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced, and evolving environment.
